SIMEON Commercial Properties purchased the former Folgers Coffee Plant in 1991. The plant was a mix of connected buildings built at different times. SIMEON's adaptive reuse strategy was to upgrade the facility into a multi-tenant distribution facility. As South San Francisco has evolved into a biotech center, rent for distribution facilities has climbed steadily as freight forwarders continue to require locations near the San Francisco Airport.
